About This Chapter
It's the end of practice for the day, which means it's time for Hiroshi to say goodbye to his friends and family. Hiroshi tells his friends that he'll be back soon, but first, he wants to make sure that he doesn't get injured again. He tells them that if he gets injured again, he's not going to be able to play again for a few months. He also tells them about his childhood, when he used to watch sumo wrestling and then track in middle school. He says that when he couldn't keep up with his friends, he got better, and that's when he realized that he could play again. Now, he says, he feels like the "god of soccer" is watching him, waiting for him to get better. He asks about his family: his mom works a part-time job at a super market, his dad works at a grocery store, and he and his mom live in a middle-class household. He thanks his friends for taking him in, and says that his parents seem like "good parents" , despite the fact that they don't have much money.
