As the clock strikes seven minutes remaining in the second half of the game, Minouchi and his assistant coach, Seiseki, try to cheer each other up. Minouchi, however, is having none of it. He says that the team has been on the "scarce edge" of the field all season, and that he has watched them "try their hearts out" since the beginning of the season. The coach says that he will be taking charge of the new team for the upcoming semester, and Minouchi wonders if the news of Minakuchi's departure will have any bearing on the team's success in the coming season.
