The ghost of the spirit queen enters and tells Ling zhi that the empress has cleared the way for her to escape. She tells Ling that the only reason she is suffering is because of her sister, who has been named yetan because she is the "brightest flower" in the palace. The ghost also tells her that before the massacre of the fuqiu clan, the old servant replaced his three-year-old granddaughter with yetan's body. The spirit queen also tells Ling to protect the map of the palace because the phantom clan will use it to cast a spell on the water supply of the foreign clan. She then invites the people of the snow clan to come and watch the battle.
