This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between the Queen and her attendants. The Queen tells the attendants that she wants to kill them all, but she can't because she doesn't have the authority to do so. She's afraid that if she kills one of them, she'll be blamed for the deaths of all the other women in her harem. She tells them that she's going to kill all the women in consort's harem because they're trying to frame her for something. She also tells them to take her to the dungeon so she can have some rest. This is all part of the Queen's plan to get rid of her.
