He knows that the enemy will encircle them, so he's prepared a way for them to hide in the mountains. He also knows that if the emperor wins, he'll kill all the guards. He's convinced that they'll be able to use the map they've prepared to hide themselves in, and then use it to defend the rest of the clan. He wants to get the bows and arrows for the battle from the warehouse, but he can't bring himself to shoot arrows at the enemy, because the arrows are poisoned with black viper poison. He invites everyone to join him in the battle, so that they can witness the deaths of all the clans.
