Now that he's figured out the secret of the game, Tenma realizes that he can do whatever he wants with the dolls. He can just grab one of them and put the soul back into the doll, just as he did with the other dolls. Tenma is so happy to have saved him that he wants to thank him for saving him. He tells Tenma that he doesn't care what happens to him if he dies, because he wants Tenma to follow him, even if it means that he himself will die. He's going to look for his friend now, so he won't have to worry about following him.
