In this chapter, the monster who calls himself "Slump" is described as a "step-shock no way" menace. He tries to escape, but the monster is too scared to do so. He tells the monster that he saw "akasshi's body chopped to pieces" over on the island, and that the body is right over it. The monster says that he and the others will have to beat the monsters for two hours before they can get away. He says that they will lose them if they stay to get "her" , and then they will be lost in the woods. He asks the monster if he can help him escape, and the monster says he can't, because he's scared stiff. He wants to be strong like a rock, he says, but he doesn't have the strength to do that. He's so fed up that he wants to die.
