The next morning, the servant asks if the master has forgiven him for deserting the children. The servant tells him that he has become a disciple again of the "peach blossom mountain" . He tells the master that he wants to know what happens when a deserter gives up the battle. He says that he saw the demon before and knows that the demon is Emerald's follower. He wants to see if the demon will kill Emerald. He asks if she has a bloody smell, and the servant says that she does not. He also asks if they are delaying, and he says that if they give up, the master will scold them again. He then asks if he is the one who gave him breakfast all over the place, and if he gives up, he will be scolded again. The maid says that it is enough for her to see how the master is now, and she asks him if he will accept her offer of surrender. He replies that he is willing to accept it, and that he knows that he cant win the battle, so he can try it himself. He tries to kill Emerald, but she is on the other side of the mountain, and they are on his side if he wants them to be on the same side.
