In this chapter, the voice of the advanced soul is introduced. The voice is that of Lin, who is trying to find his son. The advanced soul tells him to hurry up. He tells Lin that he has seen a lot of exorcisists who have broken through the wall and driven evil spirits away with their bare hands. He also tells him that the evil spirits are called "demons" and "monsters" in the West and "evil ghosts" in China. Lin is confused by the voice and tries to find out what the voice is talking about. He realizes that the advanced spirit is superior to humans because he has a higher spirit inside his body. He says that if he has faith in God, he will be able to drive evil spirits out of the world. Lin tries to get the voice to stop, but the voice refuses to help him. He asks if god exists and where was he when he heard the voice. He then asks if the voice was coming from the ceiling, and if it was from Lin's son. He is afraid that they will get lost in the world if they do not get out of there. Lin asks if they should hurry up and find which hand belongs to their son and take him back home. He thinks that this could be an evil trap. He fears that the voice might be crying for help, but he can't say for sure if it is Lin or the voice belongs to a beautiful girl. He decides that he will pick the voice that looks like a girl.
