In this chapter, we learn that Yulan has lost consciousness, and that he will soon die. He asks Yulan why he saved him, and Yulan tells him that he did not want to kill him. He also tells Yulan that he is not ready yet to be with him, because he does not want the dew of the nether kingdom. He tells her that she cursed men before she died, and she becomes a pain in Yulan's eyes.
