The chapter opens with a soliloquy in which Hiroki laments that he has "disgraced our sect" by failing to make it into the final squad. He sends a message to Jean, who is very pleased with his performance, and tells her that he will work harder to make up for the five years of wasted energy that he lost. He also tells her to grow up faster, because he knows what she is capable of. He tells her not to worry about jiang and sheng, since he knows that they will not be joining the squad, but to get down to the business of training. He says that he saw how well Hiroki fought the giant in the test, and that he was hurt, but that the move he used to take him out was very creative. He asks if he can give him another test, but Hiroki says he needs to learn the defense technique. He explains that when he entered his body at the 11 , his body rejected him, and he suffered a lot. When he got to recover his energy in his body, he and Hiroki started to use their power to kill demons. It was only when they talked to each other that they were able to be a whole unit. He then asks if it means that he can show up at any time when his body is in the best condition, but only when his energy is at its peak. He wants to attack him as hard as he can, but he also wants to show off his defense technique, so he asks to be shown what he has. Before he touches him, he says, he hears the rumble of his energy, which means that jiang is having special training.
