In this short scene, we learn that fanming alder is the apprentice of Kurong, and that he is looking forward to his performance in the competition. He is also surprised to learn that kidd, another of the applicants, is also a part of the competition, and he is shocked that he should be competing against an archmage. He tells kidd that he wants him to feel how strong he can be in the fight, and to not be afraid to show courage in the face of an enemy. He also tells him that he can get his magic tool back if he needs it, and tells him to clap when he gets it back. The two of them talk about how they betrayed the king, and how they are at the peak of the mountain, where no one can see them. They want to stay by their side in their energy forms, so no one will be able to tell them where they are, and so they promise not to bother them with dew. They also tell him to think twice about staying with two girls, because one of them will stay in his right ear, and the other will stay with him in his left ear.
