When the boatman arrives at the Sanzu River, he asks for six gold coins to get to the killing-stone trial. The boatman refuses, saying that he still has a way to get there, and that he will be sent to hell if he doesn't accept. He says that if they give their offer first, they will be sinners, too, and they will never be able to give them out. They will have to go to hell, but they will earn six coins every time they earn a gold coin.
