The monk tells the ghost that he has been cultivating his will for a long time, and that he would like to see how far he has come. The monk compares the ghost's body to a "bloof" , and says that he can bear all of the pain. He says that the hole in the monk's face hasn't healed yet, and he wants to know how the snake demon managed to survive. The snake demon, he says, has a strong sense of smell, and knows that her companions have been killed and that enemies are coming. He tells the story of the snake-demon's past. When she was alive, she used to be kind to people, but when she died, she was considered a witch, and even her family refused to show up to say goodbye. After she was reborn as a demon, she committed many bloody attacks, but the powerful emotions of the demon attracted the lord.
