The next morning, Ling learns that her brother has been seriously injured in a car crash in China. He is now in the care of feng-xing lang, who rescued him and brought him to Ling's house. Ling is shocked to learn that his brother has not yet come to see her, but she assures him that she is on her period and that she will be back soon. She tells her brother that he should make her some iron-rich soup and tells him to stop teasing her about the divorce. She also tells him that he must confess that he did not love her because she asked him to do so. She asks him if he will let her go if she does not love him, and he refuses to drink the soup until she confesses that she loves him. He tells her that if she is not happy, he will sell her to the club. He says that she looks like she is deeply in his heart and that he will have to get well soon to get her out of his way. Ling says that he cannot find a way to pull his sister out of her brother's affections because she is so deeply in love with him. She says that if he dares to hurt her, she will sell him to a club. She then tells him he must get well quickly and that there is no way for her to pull her sister out completely. Ling asks him to take her lunch card with him so that he can eat alone after the exam.
