About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a soliloquy by Ching-luo, in which he tells his brother that he wants to get out of the house, but he doesn't know how to do it. He says that he's so close to his brother's revenge that he can't bear to have a child, and he'll wait for him to beg him to leave the house. He wonders if the feng family might be able to find a way out of this situation, and wonders if there might be rats and cockroaches on the floor, which would make the situation even worse. Ching-li-xin tries to calm him down, saying that if the situation continues, his brother will be worried, and they'll have to give the money to the family first, and then try to get the money back after they leave. He tells Ching-lan to face the problem first, because he thinks Ching-lin is worth a hundred-million dollars, and that she's not worth his respect. She reminds him that she got married to him because she was a gold digger, which is why Ching-Lin always disrespects her. She says that she still needs to remind him that he is not a noble man, and she hopes he respects his brother.
