In this chapter, Ling-xin tries to convince her brother-in-law, Ching-luo, to let her and Lin-xue Luo leave the house. Ling-lun, however, is adamant that she will not let Lin-xin leave. She tells him that her brother is kind to her, and that he is her husband. She says that she is confident that she can take care of her brother for life, and will not fall in love with another man. She also says that if she is not qualified to marry her brother, others are less qualified than her. She then says that sooner or later she is going to make Lin-xing fall for her. The two men are waiting in the hallway for them to come out and show off their good behavior for the two women. The man who is behind the incident is Ling-lan, and he is the one who is causing the trouble. He tells her that she should not force herself on him, because he is always trying to get her to submit to him. He says that he will punish her if she continues to act like this. He warns her not to cause more trouble, because her brother's health is not good. He also warns her that if something happens while they are not around, it may be a mistake to marry a woman who looks like the same type as feng-yiming.
