In this short scene, we are introduced to Cai Ling's wife, Madame Cai, and her husband, Cai Ling. Cai Ling asks Madame Cai if she married Cai Ling because she wanted Cai Ling to care for her, and Cai Ling replies that he meant that Cai Ling would take care of him, and that he was giving Cai Ling a chance to do so. He tells her that he has been struggling for the past few days, and has yet to receive any food from Madame Cai. He says that he knows that the person who tried to kill them was probably an outsider, but that it is not easy for a foreigner to lay his finger on a married couple, especially when they are in the middle of a civil war. He also says that the woman who tried the murder was probably a foreigner, but he does not know who she was. He goes on to say that he had been tired lately, and would like to go to Madame Cai's house to get her some food. When he finds that Madame Cai is hungry, he says that she should have given him some food, as he is tired and hungry himself. He then tells her to turn around and look closely at her cell phone, because she looks exactly like Cai Ling, and he would think she was Cai Ling if she hadn't had scars on her face.
