Dr. Jin calls on the second young master to tell him that his brother is doing well and that he wants to see him in the hospital. The young master tells him that he's just in time to meet his brother. He also tells the young master that his older brother has something important to say to him. The elder young master says that he probably wants to know about the marriage between Ling and Luo. Ling asks where her marriage certificate is, and the younger master says he'll return it to her before he leaves for his treatment. The younger master tells Ling that she's not heartless, and that she can tell her straight if she wants to. Ling says she'll regret it one day, but she hasn't yet left her. She asks him if he wants a child of his own, and he says he doesn't want to, because the child will be miserable. He asks if she has slept with Luo, and she says no. He's already slept with another woman, and there's nothing to talk about. Ling wonders if he will continue to love Luo if he'd be alive.
