This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between a demon and a human. The demon tells the human that he would have become a demon earlier if he had known how good it feels to be an evil demon. He tells the man that he needs to fight the demon even if they can't defeat him. The man tells him that they need to destroy the demon because of the dog, but the demon is too powerful to kill him instantly. He says that he's at the level of shakin g, which means that he can only kill the demon with his own evil energy. He also says that the demon's spiritual power has dropped to 50, which is a lot lower than it used to be. He asks the man if he can give him an exact figure of how powerful he is, and the man says he doesn't know, but he can tell that he has made progress on his goal of destroying the demon.
