About This Chapter
In this scene, Mr. Ming asks his uncle to prepare him a ship for his upcoming trip to the "secret realm," but the uncle refuses to do so, saying that it is too much. Ming tells his aunt and uncle that he has asked them to prepare a large ship for him, but they have refused. He tells them that the ship is waiting for them, and that they should hurry up and get on it. He then introduces Ming's friends, who will accompany him on his trip. He also tells Ming that he knows the man who runs the local gambling establishment, and Ming thanks him for introducing him to his friends. Ming says that he does not want to offend his friends and that he will discipline them. He says that the children should have the right to choose their own future. He adds that he would like to engage his daughter, but now that Ming has rejected the offer, he looks like he is going to break the deal. Ming promises to take care of himself and protect himself, but he also warns his friends that he may send his daughter back if they do not want Ming to accompany them.
