The chapter opens with Hiroyuki's declaration that he has read all of the letters he has sent to Nemo. He tells Nemo that he finds it difficult to forget Nemo's death. Hiroyuki tells Nemo to go to the village of Akeiwa, where Nemo once practiced the kagura, to mourn the loss of his beloved. The village is now a ruined ruin, and Hiroyuki describes the place as "like an archaeological site." He asks Nemo to dance for him.
