This chapter opens with a conversation between saki and the monster. saki tells the monster that he's a "new monster" and that he needs to leave his father's place. He's worried that the monster will find out that he killed his father. He also worries that if the place is gated, people will be able to get in and out without saki's knowledge. He wants to make sure that no one can touch his clothes, which are stained with "impure marks" from his childhood. He doesn't want anyone to leave him alone, and he wants the police to come and arrest him. He compares himself to his mother, who is dying by fire.
