The next morning, Conrad wakes up and finds that his face has returned to normal. He wonders if it was the sleeping pills that caused her death, or if he could have killed someone if he wanted to. He also wonders if he would have had to kill someone again if he had kissed her and she had not returned to her normal state. Conrad is still not sure what happened, but he is certain that he will never again lose his way.
