In this chapter, we find out that Izana is acting like a goddess in her performance of Tartuffe's "The Mysteries of Udolpho" at the theater. We learn that this is because she's in love with the play and wants to see it performed. She also wants to know how her mother feels about the play. We also learn that her mother left the theater with a bag full of her mother's love poems, and she wanted to know what her mother thought of the play when she saw it. She's not sure what to make of this, but she knows that she'd be happy to hear that she and Izana are dropping the play together.
