When the doctor finally diagnoses her with a stroke three months later, she's still unconscious. When the parents come to visit, they don't know that their daughter has been stolen from them, but they're glad that they've been able to find out about it. They're so nice to her, says the narrator, that she can't believe how nice her family really is. The narrator tells us that he's going to pretend to be a neena to get her back.
