About This Chapter
In the operating room, Izana tells the doctor that she thinks the girl would smile over her death. The doctor tells her that the girl has been in a coma for three months and that she may not wake. Izana says that she doesn't know how long it will take for the girl to recover from her shock. She says that even if the girl does wake up, it will be three months before she will be judged to have regained her health. She asks the doctor why they don't just leave everything to her and her family. He says that Izana is important to them, too, and that it will hurt her reputation if she keeps up appearances. He adds that he is worried that the incident will hurt his reputation once he's become more popular. He tells Izana that he broke the girl's arm and drove her into a coma. He asks if this is a good idea, and she says that it is. She wants to know what it was like to break her arm and drive her into the coma.
