About This Chapter
When the sun goes down, the narrator laments that no one will look at his face. He says that his name is "boom" because the weather has been so bad for days. He wonders why the actress doesn't remove her hood and take off her dirty clothes. The narrator says that he used to be pretty in the sex scene, but now that he's grown up, he thinks that she's too pretty for her own good. He also says that the actress looked scary on her face, but that she wasn't really scared of him. He remembers one of his earliest memories, when he was a young child, when his mother told him that he was beautiful, but not as beautiful as his mother. She said that she had lost her beauty because of her father, who stripped her of everything and made her body and soul a husk. He asks his father to stop calling him "sukeyo," but his father refuses to listen to him, saying that his mother had no talent, class, or wits, and that he couldn't survive without her. He tells his father that he needs to go back to being the refined man he was before his mother's death. When the narrator hears his voice, he feels as though he can return to his youth. He thinks that the girl he loves is just like the one he and sukeyo created together. Who cares about the actress, he asks, and who gives a "damn" about
