About This Chapter
It's graduation time, and the students are getting ready to leave for their new jobs. They're excited to be leaving, but they're also worried about what the future holds for them. They wonder if they'll be able to find a job in the West, and they wonder if their father, Hiromi, will try to make a revolution in his son's life. They also wonder if Hiromi's conversation with the Prime Minister was a big success, and whether he'll try to change things in Tosuku. Hiromi says that he's not sure what his future holds, but he does know that Hiromi will probably follow him to the West anyway. He's obsessed with his son, and he can't stand being so far away from him. The students are happy to be graduating, and are sad to see that their lives have changed for the worse. They lament that the dogs are out of control, and that the white cats are picking fights with them all the time. Everyone is sad to leave the academy, and Hiromi laments that he has a lump in his throat, which is one of his dreams.
