In the heat of the mid-July sun, a group of high school boys are gathered on the beach at a summer camp. They're bored, and they've got one thing on their minds: what's going on with Tosa and her new boyfriend, rex. They want to know if Tosa is looking at them, or if she's just staring at them with scorn. The boys decide to challenge each other to a fight, but Tosa isn't having it. She says she'll "chew me out" if they don't fight, and the boys agree to do it. They head back inside to get ready for the fight.
