In this short scene, we are introduced to a number of characters who have been introduced in the previous act. The first of these characters is a young girl named Persia, who has just returned from a trip to Europe. She is a member of the school's Prefect Office, and she and her friend, Inuzuka, are supposed to meet with Persia in order to discuss matters concerning the upcoming school year. In the meantime, Persia's friend, Mariana, has been having an affair with Mariana's older brother, Nestor. Mariana and Nestor have been playing a game of hide-and-seek with each other, and Mariana is jealous of the other girl's success in wooing Nestor. In order to protect Mariana, Nestor and Mariana have begun to play a game in which they pretend to be lovers, but in reality, they are just pretending to be friends. Mariana, however, is not interested in the game, and when Mariana tries to tell her about it, she is told that it is a joke and that she should not tell anyone about it. In fact, Mariana is so upset by the game that she tells Nestor that she is going to leave the school.
