The next day, Hiroshi continues to write in his journal. He's happy to be back in Japan, but he's sad that he can't spend more time with his sister. He thanks Mina for taking care of him, too, and says he'll be back soon. Hiroshi tells us that Mina is staying with him in the West, and that he'd like to catch a train back to Japan so he can catch Hiroshi's train to Europe. He says he doesn't think Hiroshi will be able to catch the train back, though, because he has a crush on Mina's younger brother, Juliet. He also says that Mina has been treating him like a son, and he wishes he had an elder sister to help him with his problems. He wishes he could stay longer with Mina, but she's too busy to do so. He tells Mina that he hopes she'll come back to Europe soon, because it's been three days since he left Japan. He asks Mina to take him to a kimono shop to rent some for the trip to Europe, and she agrees. She and Hiroshi go for a walk together, and then Hiroshi asks if he can walk around with her while they're dressed up. She says she'd be happy to do that, too. She tells him to go check out the big foot bath at the foot of a carriage, and they head off to check it out.
