In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character named Persia. She is the heroine of the story, and she is the main character of the novel. In the opening scene, we learn that Persia has received a gift bag from Hiroshi, and that the bag has been mixed up with Hiroshi's own gift bag. As the scene opens, Hiroshi tells us that he has received the gift bag, but that it is not Persia's. As he is about to leave, he is interrupted by Inuzuka, who tells him that she has found the bag. Hiroshi then tells the story of how he and Persia used to go shopping together, until one day, when they ran out of time, they ran into each other. He tells her that he had given her the bag as a gift, but he had not given it to Persia, because he was afraid that she would think that he was giving her a gift that was not meant for her.
