Act Four opens with a soliloquy by Hirohito, in which he tells the audience that he has come back from the war and that he wants to know what has happened to the princess. He tells her that she is still the "principality of west" and that she looks the same as ever. He then tells her to obey him and that they will spy on the eridge and the two puppies. He also tells them that they must come to him in three blows with the whistle. He says he has some pictures to spread and asks if they are prepared to deceive everyone. He wants to be strong and change the world, so they must obey him. He asks them to associate only with the way they look at each other. They are free to associate, he tells them, but he will not allow them to do so. He will dig up dirt on them within the next three days.
