In this chapter, we learn that the spirit artery is the key to unlocking the two worlds, and that only those who have passed the gauntlet will be allowed to ring it. This is because, according to the rules of the universe, those who pass the gauntlet are the ones who have the power to open the gates to the other worlds. The only problem with this system, says the princess, is that she doesn't know anything about her father's death. She's just a "hybrid princess" , she says, and she can't really feel the world's "outside pressure" . The princess says she's going to "tweak the rules" on the king so that he'll be able to feel the "inside pressure" of the world when he opens the gates. The king says he's not smart enough to create the rules, and the princess says it's time for him to "live like a joke" and "end the suffering" of his family. She wants to know why the king would want to kill himself when he has so much to lose. She says the king is using "reverse psychology" to get the king killed, and he should stop using it.
