In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the groenendeel. He is a creature of the underworld who has been banished from his home in China. He has been living in a cave in the middle of nowhere for the past ten years, and he has been unable to find his way back to his homeland. He does not know what to do with his newfound freedom, but he does know that he must find a way to survive. He knows that he will have to fight his way through the ranks of the undead in order to reach his goal, which is to become a god. He also knows that if he fails to do so, he will merge someone else into his own blade.
