In this chapter, the Governess explains how she is able to see through the wall of her parents' apartment and into the living room. She can also see that her parents have left the house and gone to bed, and that the kid in the next apartment is playing. The Governess asks if she can bring her a towel, but she has to wait for 35 seconds before she can do so. She is terrified that she will be found, and she begs to be left alone.
