The next morning, the old man tells the others that he has a problem with his body. He says that he can show them the way to a village near the gate of despair. The village is surrounded by a dense forest, and the people are stronger than the others in the area, but not as strong as the ones in the lighthouse. The old man says that the village has hearthstones, which are carved into the walls of houses, and survivors have found that these kinds of stones keep the cursed beasts away from the village.
