In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, a high school student named wangxiaoxiu, who is trying to figure out where his girlfriend is in the world. Worried that he is about to fall into the abyss, he searches for her in three different grids. The first grid is about the past, the second about the present, and the third about the future. In the first grid, he sees a bunch of corpses lying in the sand. He wonders if they are dead explorers, or if they have been attacked by some kind of advanced formation. The roars of the corpses suggest that they were not attacked by any kind of predator, but by a skeleton monster. The skeleton monster has taken over the body of the dead woman, and wang is worried that he will die. He tries to wake the woman up, but she has already been knocked unconscious by the monster. He begs the egg to help him break the illusion. The egg tells him that he can have fried rice with it, which will help him escape the illusion attack.
