In this chapter, we're introduced to a number of characters, each of whom has a unique story to tell. The first person we meet in this chapter is a disabled man who wants to be a partner in a company called Silver Grave. He wants to buy a diamond from Silver Grave, but he can't because he's blind. The second person is a blind woman who doesn't seem to notice that Silver Grave is a diamond company. The third person is also a blind man, but the two of them are so different that they don't recognize each other. The fourth person is Silver Grave's boss, who has made a big bet on Silver Grave in the past. Silver Grave wants to partner with him, but it's clear that the boss has made some big bets on his own. The fifth person is the director of the company, and he wants to know what's going on with the company. He's got a message for Silver Grave: the company has posted a warning on their school's chat room that the government is going to come after them for not paying back their debt. The director is worried that this is a sign of the government's support of the communists.
