The Black Stone King is not able to make it to the ceremony because of the chaos. He is joined by the other four chiefs, who are waiting for him at the mountain gate. Goshawk tells the other chiefs that he has come in time to watch the gate closely. He tells them that he is stronger than they are, and that he will not lose to them because of his graciousness. He says that he can recover in a short time. He warns them that the evil god's seed can turn people into predators, but they must stay. He explains that he knows from the first stone that they are the last test. He advises them not to try and crack the rules because they are inexperienced and ignorant of the cultivation and empty-headedness of the first two stones. He also warns them against letting the others take the test because letting them do so would be like giving up.
