In the middle of the fight, Beowulf realizes that he's been defeated. He's about to throw a punch when he hears the sound of li-chade's blade breaking through the cube's walls. He realizes that it's the knife that's broken through the wall, and that he can't find it anywhere else in the world. He thinks that if he were to find it, he'd be able to use it to kill the guy, but that'll be a waste of time, because he doesn't have enough time to kill him. He also realizes that his sister and he need to wear the knife on their backs when they're on the road, because they don't know how to use the knife to kill someone.
