The group is waiting for the portal to send them back to the city. Jack is seriously wounded, so they can't do anything about it. Hangkunsi is also wounded, but he won't be able to do anything to help him. They're not sure if this is the small world in the portal, or if it's just a huge, weird world full of weird stuff. They don't really know what to do with it, but they're sure they'll have to use it eventually. Jack and the other guys are confused. They think they've found the secret of the mountain, but then they realize that the statues are all real people who've been totally freaked out by a natural disaster. They figure out that they have to go to the lake and find the core of the city before they can go back.
