About This Chapter
The fight is over, and the two of them are back in the hallway. The wall between them is stronger than the wall between the four stars, and they're both exhausted. Staring at the wall, Staring says that he's sorry that he caused so much trouble, but that running away from the fight can be a "disgrace" for a fighter. He also says that if he runs away, he won't be able to play in any more fights, since the rules state that fighters can't tell anyone in advance that they want to withdraw from a fight. He says that Staring made two mistakes: he didn't trap him when the game was about to start, and he didn t wait until the last minute to do so. He doesn't want to be trapped in the wall for too long, and Staring's backup plan is to appear "bam witchcraft" so that he can get out of the wall. He's sure that the pattern on his forehead will explain everything, and if he dies, he will be stuck in this wall for the rest of his life.
