About This Chapter
This chapter's epigraph is from a poem by Dr. Bledsoe. It's a poem about a man who has reached the "deva realm" and wants to know if he's there yet. The poem's title refers to the fact that a person who reaches the "destiny" of a saint has to go through a process of inheritance in order to be able to receive the soul of the saint. This means that, if you're a saint, you've got to get into the "Destiny" , which means that you have to fight for it in a world war . This is why the guy in the poem is called the "Red-Eyed Man" . He's the guy who's been trying to get to the "Dea realm" for a long time, but he doesn't really know what it's all about. He just knows that there's going to be a lot of world wars in the future, and that there will be lots of people who want to be in the Dea realm. The red-eyed man says that this is a trap, because the four "Guardians of the Holy Council" are hiding in the "Jade Pool" of the northeast ocean. He says that they're the grunt disciples of the dayan sect, so they don't have to follow the same rules as the other sects. He also says that he brought a bunch of people with him, and they formed a sword formation. He tells the guy to give the woman to the holy council and report his inheritance to the
