The next morning, the Governess arrives at the Hotel de Ville-Saint-Honore to pick up her son. The Governess tells the young man that he is welcome to stay with her, but that she will not allow him to stay in her house. The young man, however, refuses to stay, saying that he has to go to work. He tells her that he will not be allowed to stay at the hotel any longer, but she agrees to let him stay at her home.
