The young man says that he doesn't know the violinist very well, but that he has asked him many times for his love. He tells the piano player that they're holding a shinchi party for seiko today, and that everyone is excited because she's coming to see them. He says he hasn't bathed for three days, which is a big deal. He also mentions that he is going to enter a competition for the position of compositor, which means he'll have to compete against other piano players. He adds that he heard a woman playing the piano at night, and he thinks that's her voice. He asks if he can hear her at the party, and she says that she can hear him at night. She says she'll play for him. He plays a short piece for the piano and a piece for theremin, and then claps for her. She's so good on the piano that he can't believe that she is playing so well. She tells him that she has been living in Paris for two years and that she will be okay.
