In this short scene, Mina explains that she is unable to leave the school because of the visit of her friend, the conductor, and his wife, who are staying in Toyo. Mina tells the other students that she cannot leave because she has to write a letter to the 100 people who are supposed to die within two days. She also tells them that the death committee has decided that no one will send a copy of the letter anymore. She tells the students that the letter is a joke and that she will torture whoever wrote it. Mina also tells the others that the conductor is her prince and that he gives her energy and hope. They also discuss the upcoming performance of the opera, which is to take place on the 24 th of December.
