The Milord tells the two of them that they have been ambushed by the Youlan palace, and that all of their men were captured. He tells them that the emperor is in seclusion, so they should not disturb him. He also says that the tian-yin martial goddess, who is the saint of the palace, is extraordinary, despite the fact that she is not a match for the Emperor. Milord says that he should go investigate and find out the number of people in the imperial city. He says that it is so strange that the palace has a huge mansion on the outskirts of the city. The women in the palace are acting as though they have gotten themselves into trouble, but they are too quick to react with fear. He warns the two not to speak carelessly and not to just greet anyone they wish. The palace mistress says that she cannot detect even a trace of the martial goddess's qi.
