In this chapter, we learn that the young master's friend, the ling, has discovered something in the shrine, but the master refuses to tell him about it. The young master wonders how he can possibly have discovered something that the master has not yet discovered. He wonders if the master is trying to keep the emperor's inheritance to himself. The ling thinks that the two travelers should treat one another as friends, and he suggests that they all enter the shrine together. He says that if they can all share the Emperor's martial skill, then they will all be able to defeat the master. He then explains that he has discovered a tian-ling crystal, and that he can get it for each of the travelers. If they all cover him, he can find one for each one of them, and they can enter the Shrine together. The group then realizes that there are over 300 people already inside the shrine. They hurry up to find the purple-tier items.
